Lilli Hölzlhammer completed her Bachelor's degree in German Studies at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in 2014 and earned three Master's degrees at the same university: Byzantine Studies (2020), German Literature (2016), and Comparative Literature (2017). During her Master's studies, she participated in two Erasmus exchange programs: one at Aarhus University in 2015 and the other at the University of Crete 2019, as well as a research stay at Kyoto University 2016-201 . From 2021 to 2025, she pursued her doctorate at Uppsala University, writing her dissertation on "Translating and Teaching: From the Arabic Kalila wa-Dimnah to the Byzantine Stephanites kai Ichnelates." Her research interests lie in the narratological analysis of Byzantine literary texts and a comparative approach to their diverse parallels in Near Eastern literature as well as ancient and medieval European literature.
