We are very happy to announce that this year’s Autumn School of the International Doctoral Program Transformations in European Societies (TiES) will take place in Munich! The event will be held from 06–09 October 2026 at the Institute for European Ethnology and Cultural Analysis at Ludwig-Maximilians-University.
TiES is an international doctoral program that explores processes of social and cultural transformation in Europe and beyond. It is a joint program of the universities of Basel, Edinburgh (Heriot-Watt University), Graz, Munich (Ludwig-Maximilians-University), Murcia, Tel Aviv, and Zagreb. This year, we are especially pleased to welcome our new partners from Comenius University Bratislava.
As in previous years, participants can look forward to a diverse program:
We are delighted that this year two professors will present their current research: Prof. Manuel Trummer (Ludwig-Maximilians-University) and Prof. Helena Tužinská (Comenius University Bratislava).
PhD students will present their ongoing work in presentations and poster sessions and engage in intensive discussion with fellow participants and members.
Alongside these presentations, the programme will feature a writing workshop, tutoring sessions, and numerous opportunities for academic exchange, collaboration, and the further development of doctoral projects.
We are looking forward to an inspiring week with engaging discussions, new impulses, and lively exchange within the international TiES network.
The final program will follow shortly.
